Classes at the CHEC

Collin Higher Education Center

BAAS students at UNT have the option of taking certain classes at the main campus in Denton or at the Collin Higher Education Center (CHEC) in McKinney. The CHEC also gives community college students in workforce programs at Collin College or other nearby institutions the flexibility of completing a bachelor’s degree closer to home.

If you are currently attending Collin College or another institution, you must apply to UNT and be accepted in order to take courses at the CHEC. To learn more, visit Getting Started. If you are already a UNT student, you can register for CHEC courses the same way you would for your other classes.

At the CHEC, courses in the following disciplines are available to satisfy the BAAS Professional Development requirement:

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution
  • Management
  • Marketing
  • Sociology

You can learn more about these offerings and completing other components of the BAAS degree at the CHEC by visiting with the UNT CHEC advisor. The schedule of classes is posted on the CHEC website. We know that you will enjoy taking classes at the CHEC. It is a state-of-the-art facility with the following amenities:

  • Free parking—both open and a parking garage
  • Admission Counseling and AcademicAdvising
  • Study areas and computer labs
  • On-site UNT office and full-time employees
  • Located within a mile of a number of restaurants
