Professional Foundations

The Professional Foundations requirement consists of 9 hours of courses that must be taken from UNT. They form the heart of the BAAS curriculum and are intended to improve your marketability in today’s workplace.  In these courses, students sharpen their ability to communicate, negotiate, analyze information, and network effectively.

The Professional Foundations coursework includes:

  • PACS 3000Pathways to Civic Engagement (3 hours)
  • PACS 3020Fundamentals of Inquiry and Discovery (3 hours)
  • Select one from the following based on your experience in the workplace. While students may benefit from taking both courses, only one course will be applied toward the Professional Foundations requirement.  Students who are undecided about their career plans after graduation would benefit most from taking PACS 4610.
    • PACS 4610Managing a Career in Today’s Workplace (3 hours)
    • PACS 4050Negotiation and Dispute Resolution (3 hours)

Please note that students must earn a 'C' or better in these courses to receive credit towards a BAAS degree.
